“Dr. West asks questions & listens intently in an engaged way. She is especially knowledgeable about women’s health issues & seems to enjoy coming up with sustainable wellness plans to keep me (her patient) healthy as I age. She balances being a clinical professional with being a friend who truly cares about the overall health of her patients … Have recommended her women’s health practice to many of my colleagues & will continue to do so.”~ Rebecca
“Dr. West is a quality, personable, knowledgeable, and approachable doctor, and I’ve been seeking that for years. Getting the feeling that your doctor is actually listening to you versus watching the clock to make sure you’re in and out, is quite the rarity, especially in this fast-paced metropolitan area. Dr. West is efficient but concerned, and I am encouraged to follow her instructions because of her investment in me. I’m not asking for much either, just the feeling when I leave the appointment, that my doctor and I are a team and we’re in this together. It’s my life we’re talking about here, and for the past 15 years no doctor managed to much remember my name, versus remembering details. Not even money can buy the feeling that your doctor is invested in your health and Dr. West does just this.”~ Anonymous
“… [Dr. West] is a kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and accessible physician running a cutting-edge progressive practice in the area…This is an evidence-based over-the-top beautiful practice adjacent to Inova and focused on women and their families. She takes time with each patient to know them deeply and personally, and to establish life-long relationships. We have referred many personal and professional friends and family members to Dr. West’s practice and their reactions have been unanimously positive and appreciative for making the connection. We could not be any happier with the personalized care we have received.”~ Julia
“Dr. West was … warm and welcoming. She spent a lot of time with me and provided a very thorough physical with referrals. Driving home, I had a call from my pharmacy letting me know she had already sent in a prescription! I look forward to follow-ups and other appointments (and I don’t usually look forward to doctor’s appointments).”~ Bridget K.
“Dr. West is so kind, and always thorough”~ Anne G.
“Health care as it was meant to be. Dr. Eileen West is professional, kind and dedicated. Her patients come first. Dr. West’s attention to detail is incredible! She takes time to get to know her patients, explains what tests she would recommend for them — WHY she is recommending a test or course of treatment, and explains all of it clearly. Questions are welcome — even if you think of them later. She always gets back to you!! I needed someone in my corner; that’s why I see Dr. West.”~ Catherine B.
“Dr. Eileen West and her medical staff provided us with exceptional service!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEDED. They’re extremely efficient and provide service with exceptional care!”~ Suzan R.
“The standard of what a doctor should be. Dr. Eileen West is amazing. She goes above and beyond for her patients. I’m a disabled veteran and she took her time to explain everything to me and my family about the COVID vaccine. Her staff is wonderful and so professional. When we walked in and they greeted us at the door. She truly is an outstanding doctor. The customer service is five ⭐️ star. I recommend her to anyone. She truly cares. She is the standard of what a doctor should be. I will be back again. So grateful for your service and expertise.”~ Anonymous

“As a college student, Dr. West has always been so great at making herself available to me, even when I’m 800 miles away via telehealth. When I go in for checkups, she is always easy to talk to and answers any and all of my questions. Plus her staff is always friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend her for all mother/daughter duos!”~ Julia M.
“Very friendly and unrushed. Dr. West is very attentive and makes you feel you are her only patient of the day.”~ Cathy K.

More than 80% of women experience hot flashes during menopause. Hot flashes can occur during the day or night and have a range of severity. If you fall into the category of moderate to severe, here are 6 tips to help you find relief: 1. Keep the temperature in your home cool. 2. Reduce stress with yoga, tai chi, meditation, biofeedback, acupuncture & massage. 3. Eliminate hot drinks, hot foods, alcohol, caffeine, and cigarette smoking 4. Wear light, breathable clothing during the day and to bed. 5. Sleep with cooling products, including sprays, gels, and a cool-fabric pillow. Use layered bedding that can be easily removed during the night. Cool down with a bedside fan. 6. When a hot flash is starting, try “paced respiration”—slow, deep, abdominal breathing, in through your nose and out through your mouth. Breathe only 5 to 7 times per minute, much more slowly than usual. ➡️ There are some prescription treatments to help with menopausal symptoms.
