Eileen West, MD and Associates is a concierge medicine practice. As a primary care physician, I enjoy taking care of patients aged 16 and older and have a special focus on women’s health. I am passionate about whole-person health – meaning I work with my patients to develop a meaningful relationship so I can understand everything that might impact their wellbeing.

As a concierge medicine doctor, I have a much smaller number of patients than you’ll find in a traditional primary care setting. Because of this, I’m able to spend more time with patients, allowing us to work together to focus on evidence-based medicine, overall wellness, and prevention, and not just taking care of you when you are sick. I tell patients that concierge medicine is like “having a doctor in the family.” I’m accessible and available to you to address your health concerns and questions and work with you to live your healthiest life. My patients need and should expect:

I’m especially able to help those with complicated medical issues such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, autoimmune disease, and cancer, who need the personalized support of our practice care team.

In addition, my advanced training in women’s health allows me to provide the gender-specific care that many women need for their complex healthcare needs. My services as a female primary care doctor include breast cancer risk assessment, sexual health, menopause management, menopause treatment, and gynecology care. I am also a certified osteoporosis specialist.

An Investment in Your Health

You can access this high-touch level of care and, join the practice simply by paying an annual concierge membership fee*. Once a member, there is no fee for individual visits, as those costs are included in the membership. This fee includes unlimited primary care and consultative visits. In addition, you have direct access to me at any time. During the business day, the phones are answered by my staff, and I’m available via cell phone after hours. You will benefit from a deep and caring relationship focused on your greatest asset – your health.

As a member, you will gain personal value through improved health, wellbeing, and quality of life. Additionally, this membership model can provide financial value through reduced overall healthcare costs overall. By working to keep you healthy and out of the hospital, I’m able to decrease your need for emergency and urgent care visits. Additionally, I’m able to pass on reduced costs for some labs, diagnostic tests, and other services.

Finally, the annual fee also buys PEACE OF MIND. it gives you confidence knowing that I and my team are available to help navigate the complexities of today’s healthcare system. If you are hospitalized, I can communicate directly with your hospital team and specialists to facilitate the care you need.

*Note that membership in Eileen West, MD and Associates is not considered insurance as recognized by the Affordable Care Act. While your membership includes all primary care visits with me, I highly recommend that patients carry health insurance for those services not covered under the membership, such as labs, visits with specialists, or hospitalization. Many patients pair their concierge membership with higher deductible insurance plans to reduce their total annual out-of-pocket healthcare costs.

Today’s self-care tip is simple but necessary: Find Ways To Relax Our American society prides itself on doing, doing, doing. Here’s the truth - busy doesn’t equal beneficial. We need a balance of work, play, and rest. Your mind, body, and emotions need periods of relaxation in order to refuel. More than 80% of women experience hot flashes during menopause. Hot flashes can occur during the day or night and have a range of severity. If you fall into the category of moderate to severe, here are 6 tips to help you find relief: 1. Keep the temperature in your home cool. 2. Reduce stress with yoga, tai chi, meditation, biofeedback, acupuncture & massage. 3. Eliminate hot drinks, hot foods, alcohol, caffeine, and cigarette smoking 4. Wear light, breathable clothing during the day and to bed. 5. Sleep with cooling products, including sprays, gels, and a cool-fabric pillow. Use layered bedding that can be easily removed during the night. Cool down with a bedside fan. 6. When a hot flash is starting, try “paced respiration”—slow, deep, abdominal breathing, in through your nose and out through your mouth. Breathe only 5 to 7 times per minute, much more slowly than usual. ➡️ There are some prescription treatments to help with menopausal symptoms. Talk with your primary care doctor to discuss the best path for you.
