5 Tips for Staying Healthy Over the Holidays

The holidays can be a fun and busy time, but also physically and emotionally stressful. Here are 5 quick tips for staying healthy during this time of year!

  1. Wash your hands, wear a mask in large crowds, get vaccinated, stay home if you feel sick. We are anticipating higher than average cases of COVID, flu and RSV this year and upper respiratory infections are already in full swing.
  2. Start the day with exercise. Your body will feel good and appreciate it all day. Go for a walk after dinner.
  3. Consume in moderation. Overeating will lead to feeling lethargic, weight gain, and heartburn. Start your meal with fruit. Excess alcohol intake can have many unintended consequences. Hydrate well
  4. Remember to get enough sleep.
  5. Give yourself permission not to be perfect! Every year, a great deal of physical and emotional stress sets in as the holidays approach. Take a deep breath, start each day anew, and don’t worry about being perfect. It will make the month much more pleasurable.
