Mary is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who has been serving the Fairfax and Washington metropolitan area since 1987. Her approach focuses on empowering her patients with optimism and providing them with the knowledge and tools they need to achieve healthier eating habits as well as overall improved health and wellness.
She focuses on small, achievable changes and incorporates the practice of mindfulness in achieving a balance between home, work, and self-care.
Originally from the Washington, D.C. area, Mary received her undergraduate degree from Mary Washington College, her Master’s degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeon's Institute of Human Nutrition, and a postgraduate fellowship from the John F. Her areas of specialization include weight management, heart health, diabetes, gastrointestinal diseases, child and adolescent nutrition, and vegetarian and sports nutrition.
When she is not helping her patients, Mary enjoys yoga, cooking – especially Armenian food — as well as travel and spending time with her family and friends.
Mary offers complimentary nutrition consultations for members as part of the Eileen West, MD and Associates team.
